Gorges In Brief |

The three gorges of Qutang,
Wuxia and Xiling form one of the world's largest canyons which
spans west Hubei and east Chongqing for a 193-km stretch from
Fengjie, Chongqing, to Yichang, Hubei. Here, theYangtze cuts
a ferocious course through mountains whose dangerous images
are disguised in graceful forms. A foggy, rainy weather combines
with the heroic shape of the Qutang Gorge, the elegance of the
Wuxia Gorghe, and the stupendous Xiling Gorge to form a dainty
landscape, and endow the place with the best scenery anywhere
in the world. Among the sites of historical interest on the
Three Gorges are Sanyou Cave, Huangling Temple, Xiangxi River,
Jiuyuan River, Qu Yuan's Temple, Shennong River, Lesser Three
Gorges of Wushan Mountain, Ghost City at Fengdu, Shibao Village,
and Baidi City of Fengjie. Visitors also have the opportunity
to see the well-known Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project and
the ongoing construction of the Three Gorges Water Conservancy
Project. About 40 luxury cruises are shutting on the Yangtze
River; 20 of them wear star-rating insignias based on the equipped
facilities and quality services offered. The Changjiang Tourist
Boat Company is based on Wuhan and Yichang, and that is why
Hubei is the best place for a cruise on the Yangtze River.

Coursing over a distance of 6,380 kilometers, the
mighty Yangtze is the longest river in China and the third longest
in the world after the Amazon in South America and the Nile in Africa.
It is also a cradle of ancient Chinese civilization.
The most impressive section of the river is the three Yangtze River
gorges: the Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge, collectively
known as the Sanxia, or Three Gorges. |

Depart Shenzhen
this afternoon on a flight to Yichang. dinner are included. Overnight
in the the five star river cruiser the “King”. |

Yichang -
Three Gorges Dam - Xiling Gorge
The ship departs this morning at 630am. Complimentary tea and
coffee will be available for early risers who want to watch
the ship set sail. After breakfast there will be a shore excursion
to the Three Gorges Project, known as the “Greatest Dam
in the World.” Return to the ship for lunch. This afternoon
we’ll pass the Xiling Gorges. There will also be lectures
for those interested on the Three Gorges and Chinese Acupuncture.
Tonight is the Captain’s Welcome Party. |

Shennong Stream - Wu Gorge - Qutang Gorge
This morning’s shore excursion will be to the Shennong
Stream. This afternoon we’ll pass the Wu Gorge, the
Qutang Gorge and White Emperor City. This afternoon’s
lectures will be on calligraphy and Chinese painting. Tonight
is a masquerade and karaoke party.

This morning’s shore excursion
is to Shibaozhai. This afternoon’s optional
activities include napkin folding and tea demonstrations and a
dumpling making competition. Tonight is the Captain’s farewell
banquet. |

Fly to Shenzhen from Chongqing
the ship arrives in Chongqing,and fly back to Shenzhen. The ship
will arrives Chongqing at approximately 9am. You will be met and
taken on a tour of Chongqing. Visit the Baigongguan, Zhazhi hole,and
the Eling Part. Then fly back to Shenzhen this morning. |
